Scantronic 9651 Tamper fault?
krunal - 08-12-2010 09:21 AM

I have recently purchased a house which has the above alarm fitted, we were just looking around etc and accidently did something to the control panel for the alarm now it says K01 Tamper reset required.

Do you know how we can do this? when we knocked the alarm it went off and we stopped it by putting the code in but now can't do anything.

I think I have the same problem. Recently moved into a rented flat. Insurance application asked some questions about the alarm. Had a look at the control panel for some model numbers etc. to feed to Google. Tried to flip open the cover, bad move - ALARM! Entered access code and alarm stopped but now:

LCD reads "K01 Tamper RESET Required 9651"
Two of the three LEDs are illuminated. The lowest one (green) and the middle one (red) next to the spanner symbol.

Control panel is model 9930.

I daren't touch it again now. How do I make it usable again. Please help!

Hi
A silly one but if you have put the keypad lid back on & the tamper has cleared - Try entering your code...... Hopefully it isn't set up for Engineer reset and your code should put it back to normal.
If it is set up for Engineer reset Post back here and help will be available.

RE: Scantronic 9651 Tamper fault? - gutto - 18-12-2010 06:15 PM

I've never had an alarm before; I had no idea how sensitive to "tampering" they were. It's not like I tried too force it open; barely felt around the side of it to see if that panel opened. Feel pretty silly now.

I believe it is set up for Engineer Reset. According to the manual, that's what the red lamp means. What now?

Hi, I am new to this site. I have the same alarm system and appear to have the same problem as above, I accidentally pulled off the lid of the alarm box, now it is saying Lid Tamper, Reset Required, but it wont let me reset it using my normal code. Both the bottom two lights are lit up, the wee spanner light is red and the light below it is green. Do I need to get an engineer out and if so how would I go about finding one? Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Scantronic 9651 Tamper fault? - Rem Alarms - 10-01-2011 07:15 PM

Is the lid securely back on? Have you tried entering your code twice? If so it's set for engineer reset. Email me & I'll talk you through it if you're handy with a screwdriver.
Ron.

Hi - Im new here too. I have the same problems as the posters above with the cooper menvier 9651. After a power cut, the mains light was flashing so I flipped the little hinged door on the panel off to take a closer look. I now get 'R01 Tamper' followed by reset required showing up. The manual indicates that the alarm is in engineer reset mode. Can you help? The installers I used have now gone bust so I cant call them. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Engels, I have received the manuals (my god, what have I got myself into?) I,m currently wading through them and will return for either further help or to let you know if I'm successful. Watch this space.
Many thanks.

Simplest thing to do is a first stage reset. This defaults user & eng codes to default leaving all other programming intact. Default it then do an eng reset.
Ron.

Hi,

It's always a bit daunting when faced with instructions, I'm still trying to get the dvd recorder to understand what I want it to do, not what it wants me to do. So you're faced with two lengthy documents, ninety percent of which you don't need and will never use, nor do quite a few installers I know of. At the moment it looks as if the keypad has stopped responding because you have entered too many key presses and the most you've done is disturbed a keypad. This is not the end of the world, it's not as if you are installing a system from scratch, althought that's sometimes easier. First ensure that the keypad is not loose on the wall and that the cover is fitting correctly then try your code again.

There are usually a few experts reading the posts, so it might be worth keeping an eye on yours, some of them work with these panels every day.

Take Care

Engels

Generally the 9651 is left on ENG default because most ( sorry if your not one of them) forget it is a default setting.

OP if stuck tell what happens after you close down all tampers ( lids ect) and enter your code.

Hi, thanks for your help and suggestions. I managed to find someone local who was able to sort my problem out. It turned out the previous alarm company had changed just about everything they could to ensure that they had to be called out in the event of a problem! B******S!
Once again thanks, fingers crossed I'm now ok.

Hi I'm having a similar problem. I own the cooper menvier 9651 alarm system. I'm not sure how but the keypads now show the message k01 and k02 tamper. If i try to look into the warning messages it says contact engineer. Help would really be appreciated.

RE: Scantronic 9651 Tamper fault?
Hi all I have a fault on my scantronic 9651.

Fault on scantronic 9651 saying "lid tamper active set" with orange steady light?
I have gone into my fault logs as my alarm won't set. When I scan my fob and press "C" to leave the house (how I normally set it) it comes up with a fault. The orange light is always on steady (! In a triangle) when I look in the log of faults it have 4 problems. 1, lid tamper active set, 2, battery missing inactive next, 3, a fault on a hall sensor inactive next, 4, lid tamper inactive next. My lid is on and shouldn't be causing. Fault. If anyone can help me clear the fault so I can set my alarm that would be great.

I have had the lid off to replace the battery as it was flat. Thanks.

RE: Scantronic 9651 Tamper fault?
Hi,

I am having a similar problem too.

I removed the cover when I had just moved into my house and the alarm is displaying a K01 tamper with the LED next to the spanner on. I reset the alarm using the NV & kick start switch and I now have access to the engineer menu but even after a engineer reset it still displays a k01 tamper message. I can definitely hear the tamper switch click when I put case the back on.....can anybody shed any light into what I am doing wrong??

Thanks

Matt
